This is the first lecture in the Language Models and Intelligent Agentic Systems course, run by Meridian Cambridge in collaboration with the Cambridge Centre for Data Driven Discovery (C2D3).

This first lecture covers the basic definition of language models, how language models can be used to generate text, and how we can train language models via generative pre-training.
